Default LS/Vtec

Hey guys I searched but really couldnt find anything on this...Im about to do my first LS/Vtec. I am gonna buy the Golden Eagle Vtec Conversion System. and use my B18A1 Block with my B16 head. Anyways . I want to know how hard it is... Im pretty knowledgeable on cars and doing things just want to get the scoop / lowdown on an LS vtec any advice / tips would be much appreciated.

Heres some tips..

Use gsr oil and water pump and get arp rod bolts..And spray that GE headgasket with some copper spray..

Its not very hard to do when you have a kit like that from GE that has everything you need..You dont even have to take it to the machine shop anymore like back in the day..

make sure they are gsr studs b16 are to short. if you use the gsr water pump you will have to use the gsr timimg belt as well.

Ok question friend of mine just told me GL reving over 6500 with a stock LS bottom end then another told me 7600 is safe with ARP rod bolts or just upgrade pistons / rods?

With stock rod bolts you can rev to 8000+ rpm but have a good chance of stretching the rod bolts..Getting the arp rod bolts you can rev high safetly,,Theres always chance of something going wrong though when revving high..

Like I said get arp rod bolts,gsr oil and water pump and you'll be fine..If you have the money you can always balance the rotating assemby..

ive got some PR3 Pistons which are good for bumping up compression on all motor LS/VTEC'S
