Long Term H22 EG/EK???
Hey fellas long time reader first time poster...Here's my situation..I've had two turbo civics an eclipse GSX and a CRX. Now I have a 99 civic DX 4DR.
I will be going back to college soon and need something very reliable. I am bored of turbocharging stock engines and I want to drop in an H22 and try all motor for a change. Now I'm trying to decide between either an H22 or a B16. I already ruled out the B18C's because of price/HP. I really want the H22 because I know the B16 will still be slow but better than my Y7. I want to hear from the guys that have had the H22 in their civics for a long time and what problems have sprung up. i know once the engine is in its all good but I want to know what engine mount and axle setup people are using that work well. I am interested in the HCP mounts but i don't know what axles to use...I don't wanna use integra and accord pieces.
Sorry for the long post but I really need some info here...can an H22 be reliable and daily driven 60 miles while being wedged into a civic chassis? One more thing....I live in CA..is there any legal way to get it to pass smog?? I will have an OBD2 head and all smog **** hooked up of course and do they look for the ECU that came with the car or the engine? Last one....is there anyway to reinstall a D series if needed without some serious welding? Just to get it running right not to look stock.
THANKS!

i have had my h22 civic running for about a year and a half now, with some time on teh drag strip as well. maybe 50 runs in the last year. i have been suing the acocrd halfshaft and integra axles without a problem. the only issue i have had so far is a broke the rear HCP mount. but i upgraded to hasport mounts recently anwyay.
