legalities of swapping a JDM teg R engine..
i may have the opportunity to swap out my gsr engine for a JDM R engine...then i'll put my toda's in etc.....
besides smog, what's the whole engine identification number thang? like it matching with the rest of the car? is this swap even legal???

I swapped the same engine into my hatch. I don't know about smog yet (Should be okay). I know in Cali they are stricter so i don't know how they'll treat the whole VIN of the motor. Just make sure you have documentation for it I would imagine.

Sorry bro, can't be done.....all smog referee's know about the JDM engines which are not smog legal. You must use a USDM same year or newer engine.
