Well ill keep this short

im doing a b16 (second gen) into a 94 civic coupe for a friend and as i was removing the JDM harness i was pulling on the KS and i guess with my mad muscle power i pulled the KS apart. (if you look at the connector side there are 2 small things that come off that appear to be attached by small wires)

will it work or is it trash? (i dont know much about that stupid sensor)

if it is trash where can i get a CHEAP one.

and has anyone else had this problem?

most probly its trash,

i used a KS to man-handle a block once, it broke off in my hand...

now everytime i see a KS it is removed from the block and put in a safe place.

try a junk yard? that is where i usually head...

PS the little metal disc that the wires attach to is a kinda microphone (called 'piezoelectric') and this is what picks up the 'knock' sounds...

 

Did only the plastic connector part break? If you could get a pic to show what happened that would help. If the plastic connector broke and part of the metal contact point is there, you might be able to solder a lead to it and use it. They are somewhat fragile so it could be damaged beyond repair as well. New from Honda/Acura is around $100.

 

no the connector is fine, the damn sensor split in half...
