Yes they work well for boosting and what do you really want to know about how they work?

The K20A3 heads are the ones that came in the Civic EP3, which only uses V-tech on the intake cam, and nothing on the exhaust cam. The K20Z heads on the other hand came with V-tech on both the intake and the exhaust cam. K20A3 heads flow better at low rpm because they were designed to provide low end torque, while the K20Z flow much more better at high rpm. They both make good power, but the K20Z is a much better head then a K20A3.

k20z3 and k20a2 castings are the exact same. the k20a3 has a weaker vtc, smaller ports, and i belive i-vtec only on the intake.

go to k20a.org.............................as anybody who makes a comment on here. 2/3rds of them have NEVER seen a k series piston....................or a single part for that matter...............they just look at pics on the internet.

K20A3 heads suck.
K20A/K20A2/K20Z1/K20Z3/K24A2 heads good.

The K20Z3 and K24A2 are slightly different though as they have the extra EGR stuff and slightly different intake manifold casting and can take the RBC intake manifold without modifying the IM.

They're all okay to use if you're boosting. However, you don't want to boost as high if you've got a higher compression ratio. Anyway, there's a YouTube vid showing a K20A2 blowing at 42psi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOcqMOSvpRI
