Why can't you run a K swap off of a standalone ignition system like this AEM EMS this guy used? http://causeforalarm.thecarthing.com...ire/index.html
It seems like the distributorless ignition is the only thing really that can't be controlled by a OBD1 ECU.
If that could be done, then couldn't a K20 be controlled by a P28? Adapters for injectors and maybe odd sensors could be made, a normal Civic O2 sensor could be used.
Or would it be possible to just use the engine harness and ECU from a car with a K series, and use the harness for the lights and stuff from the recipient car? I'm not doing a K swap, I'm just curious why this can't work or if there is a work around.
