hey guys i have a 93 sol and just put in a jdm h22 swap in it about a week ago and it was prewired and setup from another eg so it was a direct drop in. well the car ran fine except sometimes it would backfire when im in a high gear and give it full throttle. it ran like a beast when it wouldnt do that but ran a little rich. then one day i drove to my girls and the next morning the car would not start. all it does is turn over. I get spark, fuel, timming is correct, wiring seems correct and plugged up right, no check engine lights also the compression is perfect. The plugs are new, spark plugs are new, cap and rotor are new.. and the thing still wont start. Does anyone know what else I should look for? I was told it was a bad ecu but then there would be a check engine light for that. The ecu is a skunk2 chipped ecu that worked perfectly fine before. Well if someone can help that would be great. Thanks in advance!!

are you completely and ABSOLUTELY SURE you get AIR, SPARK, & FUEL???

start with your spark pull all of your plug and make sure they look normal.

then test each spark plug wire to make sure you getting spark, use a spark plug tester.

the get in to the distributor and make sure the the cap and rotor are on tight sometimes the come loose when you istalll them and think you have them tightened. Also look for abnormal mark on the undreside of the cap and around rotor.

also if you have a distributor laying around try swaping that out.

if that doesn't help start looking at fuel is you pump kicking on when you turn you key?

did everything listed the other day and got the same results. plugs are brand new. now the weird thing is is that when we pull the map sensor we get no codes at all. could it possibly be my wiring?

sometimes you won't get a code right away.

now can check your fuel. i'm not sure a safe and easy way to do this.

but take the fuel line off the fuel filter and don't try to start your engine just turn the pump on make sure you have the fuel line in a small bucket. also goggles wouldn't hurt

yeah i already did that. i loosened the bolt on top of the filter and it sprayed out when i turned the key. also the the check engine light is a solid code...

Try the ecu. Sometimes if you have a chipped ecu it will not throw a code when the rom goes bad. I suffered from this a couple of times.

guess i have to try another ecu. the only problem is that all my friends are scared that the ecu will fry if i use theirs. does it have to be another h22 ecu for start up? just checking.. thanks everyone.

no you can use any ecu that will plug into your harness. Just dont drive it on any old ecu. If your car starts then simply get your ecu fixed.
