Default just got a h22a put in my ek, some problems

hi there guys, i just got a friend of mine to put a h22a engine in my ek. experiencing 2 problems atm.

1. the speedo doesn't work, shows the rpm and such, but not the actual speed and the mileage doesn't go up (obviously linked to the speed). im thinking its maybe the vss?

2. the car doesn't rev passed 6750. im using the prelude ECU with an sst chip tuned on crome.

the conversion was not done by me, so any feedback i will let my friend know.

thanx

yeah, sounds like your vss. should have a CEL for it. And i believe the lack of a vss may be putting your car in limp mode, thus the reason for the rev limiter. check the vss and see if you have any other CELs while you're at it.

One of the things that controls VTEC engagement is the VSS signal, you have to be over a minimum speed. If the VSS doesn't work, the ECU will hold you to the low-cam rev-limit which is roughly 6700RPM.

Also, if you created a rom in Crome and put it in a Prelude ECU (P13) you're not going to have a working program. Crome only does p28/30/72.
