JDM ITR in 93 SI... Wiring Questions
I've done lots of searching in the past week, but I keep getting mixed answers. Here is what I want to do. I have a 2000 JDM b18C5, and I want to put it in my 1993 Civic Si. I am trying to get ahold of a USDM OBD2 GSR or ITR engine wiring harness, because I believe that will simplify the process (plugs on the correct side). I also planning on running a chipped P28 ECU. Is this a good ECU choice, and what additional wiring is needed? I live in NC and dont have to pass emissions testing, if that even matters, but I dont want to throw and CELs either. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Brooks

You are on the right path.
All of what you just said, is the same info I tell anyone who asks about putting an OBD2 engine into an OBD1 vehicle.
A reprogrammed P28 is an excellent choice to power your JDM B18C-R engine. If you need help reprogramming it, hit me up

Thanks a lot Katman. Is there much wiring involved using this setup? I get lost when reading how-to's because most of the GOOD ones on here reference VX / similar hatches, and I dont think I'll have to do as much wiring as that. Thanks again for the help.

99% of it will be PnP, since your EG is an Si model it already has integraed VTEC wiring.
The only thing I see that you'll need to do is a VTEC pressure switch (vtps) fix (green plug on VTEC solenoid). All JDM OBD2 B-series engines do not have a VTPS, there's an easy workaround though. Splice the VTPS power wire, to the single VTEC Solenoid wire, then take the VTPS ground wire and ground it to the body of the VTEC solenoid somewhere. Doing this will prevent the ecu from throwing a VTPS check light code, and VTEC will work just fine.

no it won't because all OBD2 civic engine harnesses are a 1-piece design, unlike OBD2 integra and all OBD1 civic/integra engine harness which are a 2-piece design.
