JDM B18C into UK VTi (EK civic)
My freind is after dropping a JDM B18C from an SiR (JDM equivalent of GSR) into his EK civic, his original B16A2 engine didnt have a vtec oil pressure switch at the solenoid and the JDM B18C does have a pressure switch. He's using the original harness which isnt wired for a pressure switch, so can he just forget about plugging in anything into the pressure switch and continue to use the original P30 ECU (engine has been turbo'd but not set up yet and he just needs to have the car running before getting an AEM stand alone ECU)
Also he got a JDM P72 with the engine and has an OBD2>>OBD1 jumper harness if he wants to use the P73, but i'm guessing that it will throw a CEL if the ECU doesnt read the pressure switch sensor.
Any advice on the best way about this????
PS i've read loads of threads on this but it seems US people doing similar swaps have the opposite problem in that their ECU does look for a pressure switch and their B18C or B16A JDM swaps dont have it....whereas the JDM B18C1 does have this switch........
