I have a d15b7 with some idling issues, and I have a z6 intake manifold...

So, I was thinking I would get the z6 IM, clean up the IACV, FITV, and then take the IM off the b7 and stick the new one on..

my thoughts:

a) it will rid me of the emphysema like sound my car makes while it is warming up
b) perhaps help a slight amount with performance...

my questions:

a) what IM gasket will I use?? the z6 or b7 or other?
b) any other concerns I should be aware of?

Can you elaborate on your idle issues a little more...

 

sure...

the car starts and the idle begins to surge and return to a normal idle rpm within about 3 seconds and continues to do this until the car gets warmed up...

Also, even when I am driving after the car after letting off the throttle it will sometimes give one of these "blips" as well...
