Default Idle problem!!! Y8 to Y7 intake manifold question

I just finished my Y8 manifold swap on my Y7, but now for some reason my idle goes way high, then back down, and it just keeps doing that...

any ideas why?

lol.. you didn't double check your work. you have a vacum leak, or one of your sensors mixed up.

did you clean the gasket mating surface till it was spotless... did you replace all the gaskets.. did you label your sensors, did you double check your vacum lines replacing all of them(10 bucks at autozone)...

yo man i had the same troubles in a different situation..anyways my idle was going from 1000-1700...up and down and up aqnd down..so embarrising, looks like ur a fool in traffic. K LISTEN UP! I cleaned my IACV(didnt help) cleaned the FICV(didnt help) had no vaccuum leaks (checked with propane) and also made sure i had a new TB gasket and scraped the old **** off.. i was SO MAD i couldnt find the problem. Tried out a different TB (one from a b16 that has no FICV) and the car purred like a mother faAkin kitten. so what I did was get a new FICV from the junkers..turns out my old one went bad (even tho i cleaned it out and all the fixins)

What year intake manifold is it? As you could see theres many things that could be wrong, but main thing is you have a vac. leak somewhere.

What throttle body are you using? Also did you use a new throttle body gasket?

Start the car and run the heat (yes heat) on full blast for a few mins. Gets the air out of the coolant. Also reset the ecu.

Also I didnt read all the posts. But, does it do this just on a cold start up? Then once it warms up everything is fine?

try switching the tps and map wires, if not you have a vac leak or bad IACV.

I might have gotten some vacuum lines crossed or something....

also.... there's a little nipple in the back bottom right of the intake manifold...does it connect to something or do i just plug it up?

If that nipple didn't connect to 'something' and you didn't cap it off, that's a vacuum leak and will cause the idle to hunt.

thats for the cruise control crap *i think* but i really doubt thats where the surging idle is from, he just didn't clean the gasket surface, or mixed the sensor wires

i wanna see what it is now, he better follow this ******* thread up.. lol

kk. I plugged it up using my ultra original nipple plugger thingy and took it for a test drive....

No more weird idle!!!!

It seems to me my temp guage goes up faster from a cold start....or maybe its cuz its getting warmer outside?

If i have the vacuum lines wrong or something, would that cause my engine to heat up more\faster? cuz i noticed my engine is getting hot when i touch it but the temp gauge says its normal.

The water temp is regulated to something like 180-190*F. The engine itself is probably a little hotter. When was the last time you could stand touching metal that hot?

Did you re-bleed the coolant system?
