OBD2a Engine into OBD1 car (Both JDM spec)
Hiya guys,
I'm wanting to drop a JDM ITR B18C (B18cR here in New Zealand/B18C5 for you guys) into my JDM 1995 EG5 Civic Hatch.
My EG5 has a D16A7 at the moment and I have got B18cR running gear, loom (ODB2a) and ECU from a wreck.
I was thinking about dropping the motor in with the OBD2a loom (motor side) and plugging in the OBD2a motor loom onto the existing OBD1 loom (at the tower). Then running an OBD1 ECU re-chipped with an "adjusted" ITR map.
Either that or run a full OBD2a loom + ECU and splice the loom and hardwire the dash, so the tach, speedo, CEL, temp, fuel, etc can be utilised.
What is the best option for me? Keep in mine that both the cars are RHD and the looms fit perfectly.
I'm abit confused at this stage but I guess it's worth it carrying out some research before actually dropping in the motor.
Thanks from New Zealand

Well, it's a plug and play deal so I know of no reason you'd want to take the engine harness off of the GSR swap. Put it in there and plug it up. Worst case, you'll have to run a couple wires from the ECU to the strut tower plug. That's it.
