Im doing an engine swap on a 1990 Civic EF Hatch and I need to know which Frankenstein combos for B-series engines make the most power?

-B16 Head/B18 Block
-B16 Head/B20 Block
-B18 Head/B20 Block
-B18C Head/B18B or A Block

Any ideas at all will be greatly appreciated.

if this is for all motor
i would say
b16 head with ls or b20 bottom end
b20 and ls bottoms end are pretty much the same

would a b18 head up the power any?

no. gsr heads have a dif angle for the intake valves and create a swirl in the chamber (better for forced induction)
b16 heads are shorter and have a straighter angle (better for NA)
depends what your wanting to do.
there are too many variables

The ideal setup would be either the B16 or the B18C head on the B20 block. That would yield a motor with the most torque (biggest displacement), and horsepower is derived from torque and rpm.
