hx 7 wire to 4 wire o2 sensor. y8 ecu, head, intake manifold y5 bottom end
I have a 97 civic hx. recently did a y8 head, intake manifold. and ecu. I have depinned the 7 wire connector. placed d7/white A6 black/white. black/ground and D11/ GREEN/BLACK. I have an 02 sensor with two blacks {heaters}? a white and green. i dont understand what wire from the harness goes with the ones on the 02 sensor.ihave a wire schematic. But it doesn't state the wire function. any help id greatly appreciated

D7 white --- White on O2 sensor side
D11 Green/black --- Green on O2 sensor side
A6 Black/White --- Black on O2 sensor side (the black under the green wire on the O2 plug looking at the plug where both black wires are on the bottom side)
A11 or A24 (12v) Remove pin/wire from C23 on Stock HX harness (at Ecu) and splice the removed pin/wire into A11 or A24---Second Black wire on O2 sensor. (the black under the white wire on the O2 plug looking at the plug where both black wires are on the bottom side)

That's not going to work for the heater.
A6 is heater control, blk/wht at the ecu to blk (the black under the green on the O2 plug looking at it with both blacks on bottom) on the sensor plug if you have a sensor with a plug.
On 96-98 with a four wire primary O2 the other heater wire on the harness side is blk/yel that mates to the other black wire under the white wire. This connects to junction C123 which is fed 12 volts with the key on.
The HX doesn't have this connection to junction C123 in the stock O2 wiring because the sensor works off a low voltage feed straight from the ecu.
If the OP is trying to reuse the stock HX O2 wires one of the black wires goes to C23 and is only used on for the HX. This could be removed and connected (not replace) to either A11 or A24 which are ignition power for the ecu. These two pins get their power from the same place as juction C123.
Reusing the black wire wil keep you from having to add any aditional wires.

Re: hx 7 wire to 4 wire o2 sensor. y8 ecu, head, intake manifold y5 bottom end
Im not saying it's THE way but it's the first and easiest way I saw to do it. Just messed with this a couple months ago. The guy I was helping had already cut the harness side plug off for the O2 and didn't have a meter. He ran a seperate wire to A11.
Looking at it afterward I can see on the HX harness side 8 pin 7 wire plug with the plugs snap clip up, the bottom row has a white, black and red wire. That black wire on the bottom row (there's a second black wire on the top row right above it) goes to C23.
C23 is a .5-5.3V control for what they call the "pump cell" of the HX 7 wire. Not used on any four wire set ups.
Just saying it's a free wire in a convenient location. Could be another way though, haven't looked at it that hard.

Did this last night, check engine light is gone. O2 sensor reading .1 to .9 in closed loop! Thanks a lot guys.
