how to tell if the motor is jdm or usdm
well im might be going to go look at a motor im goin to buy from this guy and was wondering if the is a way to tell if it is a jdm motor or usdm motor. also if there is a way to tell if the motor is obd1 or obd2. i am goin to look at a gsr motor. i want to make sure soo that i dont get riped off for my hard earned money, so any advice would help.

if its a USDM itll have 5 numbers/letters... i.e. H22A4.. thats USDM.. and the JDM is H22A... or in your case... if its B18C1 its USDM or if its B18C its JDM..

Also check the head because in the u.s.,it will say p72-1 and the jdm one say p72-2 stamped on the head by the year of it.

This head is on my spare motor, I pulled this B18C1 motor out of a USDM 4dr GSR that was owned by the original owner who did an H22 swap.
Some B17A1 heads say PR3-1, some say PR3-2, I've seen both.
Edit: Also note the year of the head 94 which is stamped above the exhaust ports.

dsnt that mean the head is a 95 if it prints out 94 ?

you could also check the head, between the vtec sol, and the distro by the valve cover, ie(pr3, 72, p72) something along those lines
