How to remove mount bracket studs?
I have a 99-00 Civic Si timing belt mount bracket that I'll be using for my B20 swap into my 98 Civic Ex. Thing is...I want to replace the two original studs with new ones that I bought from the dealer. I tried smacking one with a small sledge hammer but it didn't budge. Is this something I need to take to a machine shop to have them press out the studs and press in the new ones? Anybody have any tips on how they got their studs out?

Put the bracket in a table vise and put a vise grips on the stud....... should work, you can always use a pipe on the vise grips for extra leverage
the stud isnt a press, its a screw
... it has threads so try a vice and twist it out,
i had kinda the same problem, the nut for the motor mount bracket was stuck on so tight that when i tried to unbolt it, the whole stud unbolted

Just the bottom part of the stud isn't threaded. So here are some options.
1. PB Blaster that **** and try to move with vice grips on the bottom of the stud. Go back and forth as hard as you can and eventually it might crack.
2. Use a torch to heat up the metal and it will make it easier.
3. Take the bracket off and bring to a shop.
4. GL. #1 Did the trick for me when I broke my studs in half.
