The reason i'm asking.. I left the factory 1.5l DX air box in my 92 4-door when i swapped in a 94 B18b.. it looks visibly smaller then even the factory teg box.. a buddy of mine has a Gen 2 RX7 with a fresh rebuild and mild street porting.. the car is 2800~2900 lbs. he's been talking it up like its super fast or something.. his car factory is like 145hp. I'm just wondering if i open the box and take off the filter, if i'll gain a quick 5 hp or so?

anyone have any exp with RX's that can give me an idea what i'm getting myself into?

there was a zex kit on ebay for 200 bucks.. i should have scooped it up..

any input would be greatly appreciated

You should have not problem smoking that RX7. They run about 16.4 stock. You should just get a K&N drop in filter.

i'm somewhere in the high 15's right now... so i'm wondering how close its going to be with his little extra power... the HP gain from a k&n comes from the extra air flow doesn't it? so if i took my filter out.....i would see the same gain as a K&n just without the air being filtered right? or does the K&n swirl the air funny or something? afterwards i'd put it back in so she's not breathing chunks..

i have tiny DX exaust and a Chipped GSR ecu that runs my engine way too rich.. i need to find a stock 94-95 ls ecu if anyone has one

i would put it back in after the race though. there is a FILTER for a reason you know.

it could be a good race between you and the rx7... if it's a series 5 with a street port, i think he'd win.

he still wont race... i think he's scared... he talks ****... then when i'm like "lets go RIGHT NOW" he's has 50 ******* excuses not too.. now he wants to put money on it.. i'll probably just borrow my buddies Zex shot and collect..
