How much on average would an ls/vtec setup cost?
Sorry to be a burdon of a probably already 100x answered question but....
I have a 1995 Ls swap in my 1993 civic Cx. I just had the swap installed but I still crave more. I don't think that I can "Babysit" my car enough to do a turbo setup plus the money is very tight. So I would like to do an Ls/Vtec on my daily driver, and have no idea how much it is going to cost. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance, Kevin

You might be better off doing a search but I'm in the process of building one right now. And it all depends on what you want to do. Such as pistons, rods, bearings, honing,ect...........
Its considerablely cheaper if you use your stock bottom end but how many miles do you have on it. Alot of peolple do this and encounter problems because they think they go and rev it to 8000 grand likes it a new motor when their bottom end has like 150K on it.
With low milage you could get the block checked for warpage including head also. Buy and ls/vtec kit for from like golden eagle or make your own. Rather buy the kit so you don't have worry about people doing shady machine work on the dowel pin holes.
b16 or b18c1 head $500 used complete valvetrain
ls/vtec kit $ 150-200
headgasket $30-50
vtec computer$150-200
head bolts gsr or ITR $130-150 just get arp
timing belt $50
and miscellenous just like new hoses, water pump, oil pump, but you might not want to buy that stuff so..............................
