my friends are telling me there is a direct bolt-on sohc vtec version for my 94 civic si. know the engine code and hp rating? no dohc comments please.

..im guessing this is the motor im looking for: "ZC VTEC 1590cc SOHC VTEC, 130ps" but is it drop-in and will it work w/ my ecu and wiring harness?

I know there's two ZC's, but the USDM one is refered to as the "mini-me" I believe. At least it's the vtec engine in the EX civic's. I could be wrong though. (I'm a cam snob, sue me...) I know for a fact the SOHC vtec from EX's will "bolt-in".

there were two kinds of JDM 'd16z6' equivalent:
1) sohc vtec ZC found in Domani Vi
2) sohc vtec D16A found in Civic Coupe (shipped from US to Japan)

3) option is D15B sohc vtec which is only a 1.5l but power output is close to the d16z6 with much smoother acceleration and r/s ratio (1.62 vs 1.52)

I have owned both either one is a bolt on just reuse your harness. the rest is identical with a exceptions of some ZC motors which lack oil pressure swtich on the vtec housing (can be swapped from d16z6)

its rated at 130ps/128hp but dyno figures show almost no difference, between USDM d16z6 and ZC or D16A.
