how many bolts to remove tranny...
arrrrgh I have everything off my motor basically that needs to come off before I drop the tranny out (motor still on palet). I have taken off slave cyclinder, flywheel cover, starter, and t-bracket. So far I have removed about 5 bolts on the tranny, are there any more I need to take off.
I have the helms but the pictures arent too helpful, anyone have pictures of their own trannys so I can know which bolts to take off?
thanks

take the manishaft off (not necessary but would make it wasier and less chance of damaging shaft) and remove the starter bolts.
transmission weighs about 75lb so you gotta work at it.
also because the engine is on a pallet the weight of the motor is resting on the transmission (usually hang lower than the rest of the engine) you might need a friend to rock the engine away from the transmission like on an angle and then remove the transmission. or put it on an engine lift and yank the tranny.

Wish I was at work where my motor is resting on a pallet.
I'll count tomorrow, but right now I can't remember off hand

Just for the hell of it being i just r&r the trans last week in my 5th gen. there 4 main bolts on the top of the trans itself one more as the lower starter bolt, two on the rear trans mount, ten one under the rear trans mt.( about 5" ) then in the same position on the front of the trans. remove both axles obviousley as well as the other items you had previously removed. you should be good at that point w/ exception of the difficult position of being humped over the fender to lower the trans. good luck on your quest.... btw for some fun get a Si trans from a local salvage put new input shaft seals new clutch, and since its been sitting under your bed so long, put that lightened flywheel on...hell of a ride compared to the dx/cx trans. for cheap excitment...

I'm not opposed to people posting solutions in ancient threads since it's helpful for the people searching through old threads. I do question just what transmission the OP was asking about though, because something tells me it wasn't a newer, automatic CR-V.
