How hard is it to swap heads?
i have a b16a in my ef hatch. the vtec hasnt worked sence march, and come to find out its most likely something in the oil passages in the head. (i hardwired the solinoid and vtec didnt work). so i bought a new head, bolts and head gasket. IF i take my time and torque everything to spec i should be fine right? i have minor mechanical skills. would it be easier to leave the intake manifold on or should i disconnect everything off the old one and use the one that is on my new head? any pointers? TIA

as long as you have the complete head and gaskets and a manual youll be fine. also, if your missing parts, you can swap em from the old head. youll be cool. just follow the correct bolt sequence...good luck

here's some torque specs to help...
Top dead center..
Tightening sequence..
oil spray bars...
If you forget which spark plug wire goes where, this will help ya..
Don't forget the oil orifice when putting the head back on...

heh, no problem.
Wait till I get my spec sh*t together on my website! no one will need a helms..just a printer & paper! sshhh though....don't tell Helms!

helms is a waist of money anyway, buying a 60 dollar book just for the engine specs, i would have to get another one for the car. I wish there was a magazine like HOTROD only for b series hondas.
