K I have a JDM GSR in my EG and it didnt come with any papers. How do I get my ins company to believe me so if it gets stolen\wrecked\destroyed I can get my money back??

Ask your insurance company for names of certified appraisers that they would use. Take it to one of them and have him or her declare all the parts in the car and their replacement value in case of theft. It's basically a signed document listing the value of the car. The insurance company will accept this but prepared to have your premium go up. It is the only legit way if you want peace of mind. Taking pictures does nothing for you in case of dispute if your insurance company wants to be a pain about it.

my friend has an rx7 and he had this done. When he presented his insurance company with the mods and the value they droped his policy that day. They basicly told him that a car with that many mods must be too fast for the streets and they will not even cover it.

Yea...while it seems like a good idea to insure your B18C...it could go 2 ways

1. They insure you but jack up your rates for being high risk for theft and racing

2. They drop your policy all together like the previous post

My insurance company is USAA and they asked me if my car was going to be used to racing. If so, they wont insure me.

First, I would call my insurance company and ask how they handle upgrades to your car. For example, car stereo, rims or whatever. Then ask them what if you were to replace your stock engine for a newer model one. Ask them what they need for you to be able to prove that these items were on the car. Make sure you give them hypothetical situations. Most insurance places only know what their computers tell them. Hope this helps.

Friend of mine had to go thru this.... instead.. he just wrecked the car.. then told the insurance company he wanted to gather all the receipts of the stuff he has purchased for the car to help the value of it. From there he called Locash (guy he bought the motor from) and just asked him to make a receipt. Done..

I have State Farm, and as long as u aren't trying to do something 'shady', basically everything checking out with receipts/pictures/documentation, there will never be a problem..

If u did appraise it as stated above, your premium will go up based on the new 'value' of your car..

wow i am from col too . What color is your hatch . I hav seen a blue one lowered rims .... in the hilliard area.

Its indiglo blue, but its sitting in my garage without an engine so it probably wasnt mine.
