Re: HONTEC RS EVO.........
I thought so, and if it were not for my attempts to reach a fairly lofty weight limit goal, I would probably be doing something similar.
Everything looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing more beautiful fabrication.

I've since heard from a few sources that the stock crv rear axles are 32mm, which would mean that there is essentially no advantage to running the teg front hubs as opposed to the stock crv rears? other than 4 lug options...
or is this an incorrect axle spec?

Re: HONTEC RS EVO.........
My base was the 92 AWD which has thinner splines and thinner axles, the bearing housing was smaller too, since the crv trailing arms were nowhere to be found used and twice as expensive new (go figure) I bought the awd arms and wanted to use the beefier crv bearings and since I needed to convert to disc brake I figured to use the Teg hubs... so I cannot confirm the crv axle thickness, since my setup does not require these....(porsche axles) I just needed a beefier hub with a thicker spline..and mixed and matched the honda parts...

Re: HONTEC RS EVO.........
The CRV axles have the same size outer joint as the Wagovan, which are substantially smaller than the Civic/Integra outer joints. I cannot say beyond the shadow of a doubt that the actual splines on the CRV outer joint are smaller or the same size as the Civic/Integra, but I would be surprised if they are the same size.
The Wagovan spline is much much smaller than the Civic. Also, the boys at Braille Auto complained of breaking axles repeatedly on their RWD drift Integra, which was put together with CRV rear end stuff. They had no trouble with any of the other drivetrain parts.

Re: HONTEC RS EVO.........
Nothing too fancy, been a bit busy with other stuff. Picked up the other EG AWD trailing arm and next week want to try and have them both finished and modified. Then I need to remove the mounting points where the lower rear control arm attaches to the chassis and reweld them about an inch further back to the rear. The reason for this is the geometry of the awd trailing arms, the point where the LCA's attach is further back on the arm to make way for the CV joint. If I don't re-position the attachment point on the chassis, the arms will be at an angle in which they are not able to be mounted or able to move, not good. Although they are at a slight angle in oem position, an inch off they are with these awd trailing arms. I will post pics when I get to it..

Re: HONTEC RS EVO.........
Lost some sleep the last few days irritating myself about the fact that I wanted my trailing arm to look like a reinforced oem arm and not like a fabbed up arm that just meets it's goal.
I know that most of the people would tell me to shut up and that it serves it's purpose and that it's situated underneath the car and you won't see it.
Well that just doesn't cut it for me, I'm a perfectionist and I need every part of this car to be perfect...shoot me!!!
The fact that irritated me the most was that when I cut out a section to make it shorter, the tapered nature of the arm caused an overlap when welded back together again. I reinforced the arm underneath and will also do that on top, but that would still leave the overlapping welds visible and annoying!
I decided to fill her up with metal and smooth it out so that the original curves of the trailing arm would be restored...
Here you can see the overlap:
Welding on a piece of metal to fill it out:
And smoothed out after all welding was done:
And added a little paint to show the difference before and after:

Re: HONTEC RS EVO.........
wow and I thought I was obsessive...
I'm gonna need obsessive lessons just to be able to keep up with this thread
do you think it would be possible to modify the trailing arm's mounting point as opposed to the chassis on a lowered car, or would the lca still interfere with the outer cv?

Re: HONTEC RS EVO.........
Third is that this arm takes the motherload of all stress excerted on the rear suspension and I'd rather keep that mount on the trailing arm stock in stead of welding a new mounting point.... long story short; rewelding the points on the chassis is better in many ways..
