Honda Civic CRX awd b18a
Hye guys,
I need some advice before i go off and waiste all of my hard earned money on a project that might not even work.
My plan was to use a Honda Civic cr-x '88-'91 as base car.
I want to add the AWD system from the '88 civic wagon(if i can ever find one in europe). And do an engine swap from the Integra Type-r preferably the b18a engine.
My question is would this be possible on the 88's AWD civic wagon system or would i need to look at another AWD system for the CRX.
If i do need another AWD system, what is possible with the CRX?
And how much can i expect to pay(either in dollars or in euro's)?

It can be done.. Has been before..
You may want to look into the CRv drivetrain as it is awd with a b series but might take more fab work.. The wagons awd system is set up for a d series but you can get a b to d adapter plate.. And if you have to ask how much it costs you probably can't afford it... I know the adapter plates run a few hundred bucks alone

Thanks for the information. I'm trying to source a AWD civic wagon, but it's just about impossible in the Netherlands. I think i i will have to go for the cr-v setup.
I was maybe thinking of even trying to shoehorn a K20A block from the DC5 type-r in. but i do not know if there is enough room in the CR-X engine bay to even make it possible. and i do not know if the CR-V AWD system will work with the K20A block.
I'm trying to get as much performance out of the CR-X as possible yet make it more driveable than a standard FWD.
Any idea's on what else might work as a good setup?
