HELP! OBD1-OBD2? 96 gsr motor into 92 dx hb ***
do i need to get the wiring harness converted to obd2 if my 96 gsr motor is obd2 and the hb is obd1? if so how much do those generally run and do i need to get an new ecu?

use the harness that came with the engine. Get an OBDI ECU and add some VTEC wires then you're set.

The easiest way is to use the OBDII engine harness in your car (YES it plugs into the cabin harness at the shock towers) and use an OBDI P72 ECU. But considering that you are in CA, that setup would probably not pass visual inspection. To make it legal you will have to run a complete OBDII GSR spec setup and use the OBDII ECU
