Half shaft???

Half shaft???
I was just wondering what the half shaft is? I bought a b18a to go in my CRX and the guy said that it had EVERYTHING needed. It looks like its all there from what i cansee...but i dont know what the half shaft looks like so i dont know if i have it 
. Does anyone have a pic of it? Or can you describe it to me? I know that this is a dumb question but i have never seen one. And please dont pick on me for asking a dumb question. I mean you gotta learn by asking right? Thanks

on the drivers side of the trani there should be a shaft piece that slides into the trani on one end and the outer end that would be facing away from the trani should be a female splined end that the axle slides into, hope this helps also i think it is held on by 3 bolts to the back of the block, 1 bolt on bottom and 2 on top if i am not mistaken
