Default H2B Balance Shaft Question

im new to this forum and alot more people are smarter on here than b20vtec.com

i tried researching this everywhere about the h2b balance shaft removal kit. i notice that qsd and the evo kit just sell the balance shaft plate; is the plate there to leave the shaft where it is if you dont want to use the kaizenspeed removal kit with the whole girdle removal to install the plugs?

in other words, instead of using kaizenspeed balance shaft removal kit, can i just take the pulley off and use either the evo or qsd balance shaft plate?

*and i know about the crankshaft pulley spacer!!!!*

Only for the rear balance shaft pulley. The front pulley just comes off but the shaft is still exposed. All I did was remove the pulley and the rear cover dongle with the pulley attached. And then put on the qsd block off.

you cant take the shafts out without the kaizenspeed kit. QSDs kit is a simple alternative to blocking the rear shaft, and taking the pulley off the front for the extra clearance. Leave them in there and dont go through the hasle of removing them.

quick question, wats the point of completely removing the shafts? any big diffrence from just removing the belt other than getting a little more clereance?

from the prelude FAQ https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-prelude-4/ok-proof-balance-shafts-eliminated-properly-cleanly-effectively-503372/
also, you lose about 5-10 lbs. of mass.

well from removing the shafts and plugging the holes where the dowel pins go, it allows more oil pressure and lightens the motor....

so your saying leave the shafts in and use qsd's plate by just removing the pulley on the rear shaft?
