basic crankshaft question..
i did a little searching and found somewhat of i want to hear but i want to hear it from others on here just to make me feel really sure..
my crank pulley came loose the other day and i just got around to fixing it today. well i was wondering if the crankshaft is splined just like the pulley is?? i read that the shaft is not splined but it just seems weird.. so am i correct on this or do i need a new shaft?? thanks!

The shaft is not splined, there is a keyway in it, with a key that holds the pulleys in place.
if that keyway is stripped out, you either need a new crankshaft, or get that one welded and machined again. If the keyway is fine, you should be ok, as long as the bolt threads in and torques properly.
