wwwaasssuupp, i want either a h22 or b18 swap for my car and was curious about the weight differences. i know there will be less handling with the h22 due to the more weight it has,, but how much more can it possibly weigh>? 75lbs. if thats the case, that isnt all that much, and i dont do too much crazy style cornering to where it doesnt matter if i loose some handling. plus the h22 has the same if not a wee bit more power than the b18-r. at any rate more displacement is more goodness. if anyone has some knowledge on this it will much appreciated, thanks

well, instead of being/sounding like a dick. a simple "oh it weighs X ammount more than the b18" you had to be gay and say something immature. i did look around and i didnt find anything. so the least you could have done was be a homie and help me out instead of being a **********. anyways to all that actually help me out, thanks.

yeah, i did that before my original post on the topic and i just did it again for ***** and giggles and still the same thing, a post on CRX wieght comes up and a wieght on some other vehicle comes up,,, nothing on engines.

make sure you change "date set" to "archived".. i get 7 pages of stuff and several about motor weights on that very first page..

I'm not sure compared to a B18. 100% for sure, complete D16 motor/drivetrain vs. H22 motor/drivetrain there is a 150lb. difference

Is it that hard to type in what you know?
According to CRVtec.com the B series engine/tranny combo is 300 pounds, and the H series combo is 385 pounds.

i hate it wen people say "not 2 be a dick but search". just dont answer, or refer them to a post that he or she may not have been able to find. personally i would rather type '130lbs' or something like that instead of a long paragraph of how to search.

FYI, 75lbs IS alot in regaurds to handling. Remember, the Honda engines sit in front of the front drive axles. Wieght in front of the axles (or behind in the rear) will affect turn in ALOT. H22's in hatches are understeer city......

......until you compensate for the added weight by tightening up the rear suspension, inducing slight oversteer.

Correction: by increasing the rear spring rate in a front driver, you are reducing tendency to understeer, not inducing oversteer.

yeah, im going to get ITR front/rear springs and get KYB AGX's and run them on the stiffer side, i already have strut bars in front and rear, so i think that should take care of the extra wieght problem to a certain degree. i dont do SCCA and i wont be ripping corners as crazy as i do in my CRX. overall i think things should work out, but ive been hearing things about axles breaking with this swap, which doesnt make sense becuase i know doods with b18s with turbo putting out way more torque than a h22 and useing stock axles with NO troubles whatsoever. if worst comes to worst, ill just dish out some change and get the strong *** axles.

the axles is only an issue of having the wrong axles, most people get the overall length wrong and which makes the axle bind and put a lot more stress on it.. because of this axles are more likely to "pop" out than to snap... either way.. it's been discussed in that thread...
