Default Is the weight of the H22A worth the hassel?

I have been waying the idea of either swaping in a B18C or H22A. I like the idea of the extra HP with the H22A and want to run N/A. I have read though that the swap is quite time consuming and the added weight almost cancels out the extra ponies. So is it worth the extra time and money to put a H22A in my Hatch?

If you want to leave the h22 stock and not build it, I would go with the h22 over the B18c. An h22 swap costs around the same as a gsr swap and will be faster. IF you are going to want more power out of the motor later on and want to build it, I would recommend going with a b series motor.

The b series hatch will definately handle better, but there are things you can do to make a h22 hatch handle quite well.

In the end, it matters as to what you really want out of the car and motor.

go B-Series... help drive down the cost of parts for the H series guys.

H22 makes too much power for NooB's anyways

I believe its only 75pounds heavier.

Bigger is always better, larger part usually handle more abuse.

They are putting Prelude motors in civics? Geeez, I do not know about that.

I say, leave preludes motors in preludes.

Exactly. Who wants to go through all that hassle? My friend's sister has a boyfriend whos uncles cousin knows a guy whos sons friend did that swap, and they all said that the H22 is waaaayyyyy to heavy to go in a civic. Not worth it IMO.

The h22 engine is like 1500 lbs heavier than the b18c. Check out my proof.Click Here.

I really recomend getting a lude and putting in a D15 motor to lighten it up. So much faster and it corners so well you can even sometimes PULL UP THE ******* PAVEMENT!!!!

ill tell you why the h22a is more than worth the hassle. i have one in my 93 dx coup. with only i/h/e/tb and a vafcII i have 184hp/156tq to the wheels! this set up is good for high 13's on nitto 450's with no lsd. my boy has fully built ls-v with jg pro series head, gsr crank, rods, high comp, u name it. granted, he has about 50 hp more than me, but less torq. this is a great motor if you want to be fast without building the motor. built, its damn near untouchable, especially in a coup! i love the b series, but you cannot deny the sheer unadulterated torq of the mighty h22! h22's are deadly on the highway! shout out to my fellow h22 homies! honda should have put this motor in the coup, not the heavy *** prelude! as for h22 being gay and wack, you jackasses must get spanked by them all the time! they are anything but gay my friend! mine is being built as we speak, and when its done, ive a good mind to come to your town and spank that monkey ***! you are an IGNORAMOUS who know nothing about which you choose to talk about! give the h22 a break, in order for your b16 to do what my h22 did stock, you'd need a fully built head with every bolt on imaginable! and you'd still have less torq than my h22! in short, i'd spank that *** like a red headed stepchild! for those of you b series who dont talk ****, i salute you and respect you, and wish you all the best of luck! as for the rest of you hating *** dingleberries, GET BENT!!!
