Default H22a mounts: Hasport vs HCP. (Opinions)

Those of you who have had experienced please give me some preference on the two kit. I'm still debating which to get. I know they are good kits, but I just wanted a kit that is reliable, less cutting...etc...I heard with the HCP kit, some guy(H-T) didn't cut the driverside mount...let me know...thanks...Any good pics?

any other mounts?

I'm using the HCP mounts. You don't have to cut the driver side, its the passenger side trans mount that you have to shave. You don't cut it all the way off, just trim it and drill out the pilot hole to clear the shifting assembly. So far no problems, very solid feeling. HCP=

Either kit you will HAVE TO 'trim" the P side mount. I have the HCP and they are great! No motor flex at all and the motor sits in the bay perfect. Not mention the Hasport kit is twice as expensive!

The HCP kit is cheaper. You have to shave the passenger side mount, but you still can't go back to stock after you do that. The HCP mounts are very solid and the motor doesn't rock very much. You litterally ahve to squeeze the mounts into the mounting brackets in the engine bay. I had a problem, as well as a few others had, with the rear mount being a 1/4" off causing the mount to blow. HCP might have fixed this problem though.

The HAsport kit is very nice as well. It is a bit more pricey. The motor rocks alittle more, but you don't have to squeeze each mount into the brackets when dropping the motor in. They fit in perfectly. It was alot easier to put the motor in with the HAsport kit since the passenger side mounting bracket was gone and how it bolts up on the chasis on the tranny side.

Pretty sure HCP corrected this problem, I installed mine about 3mo ago and all 3 mounts slid into place properly!

I've got the 4 piece HCP mount. Works great. Haven't had any problems with the motor hittin anything in the enginebay... and it's a REALLY tight fit. But nothing else gets hit.

I've gotta question... I've gotta 97 hatch and that black fuel thingy that bolts on to the fire wall (the name just slipped my mind just now) doesn't clear, so i just have mine bolted off and hanging around... any suggestions?

I did a poll last year when I did my swap to see what everyone liked. I went with HCP, best bang for your buck IMO.

I got the new "bling" HCP mounts and it did correct the 1/4" problem. I have been using HCP since '02 and never had a problem. Even when it was off 1/4" it was fine.
