Default H22A issues... It won't go no where!!

Alright here is the problem...
I have a 97 us spec h22a4. running on a p28 chipped by jun. I took the head off of the block because I wanted to put new cams. So I found a 93 head that was port-n-polished. I Bought a set of type S cams and put everything back into place. After putting everything back. I had a hard time trying to start it. but when it finally started it sounded very loud! Louder than before like a harley!!! then I checked and my knock sensor broke off! so I rigged it back on. i'm still using my stock manifold with stock throttle body. My thermostat housing is also leaking somewhat by the metal tube, but that shouldn't keep my car from not running right. Also when I accelerate very sloftly my car dies and boggs out! but right when I floor the car my rpm can stay at 6000 rpm. but if I accelerate softly then it dies. ITs almost as if it can't breathe!!!

Thanks....

I would bring it back to the shop where you got the work done. Otherwise seems like you did something majorly wrong and I wouldnt drive the engine hard till you find out what that is. It is hard to see problems or try to help them from your description so you would have to give a lil more detail..

yes there is definetely something wrong with my car.....I put the head back on myself....and I set the crank at tdc, and had the cam gears flushed with the head. I also had the left balancing gear at 9 o clock, and the right balancing gear between four o clock and five o clock. so I would assume the timing is right...but i have plenty of plugs left for the sensors..and all mysensors are already hooked up on the motor...I also have some openings from my intake manifold that I did not plug up because I wanted to run the venom manifold, but for some odd reason some guys said that I needed a stand alone to run that manifold....

Thanks for replying....

i dont understand when u say that ur gears were at 9 and 4 oclock, look make sure that the up marks are up pointed to the sky, and the horizontal marks are level with each other and lined with the valve cover deck. Then look in the service hole on the transmission to see the flywheel and make sure its at its TDC mark. Then plug all the vaccums up so none are open, thats why u bogging and dying. After that make sure u have the right plugs attatched to the right sensors, look in a helms, or trace the wires to their corresponing pinouts in the ECU and make sure they are designated for that particular sensor, you will have some extra sensors becuase of the Obd2 harness and you having a Obd1 head (intake mani). Good Luck.

i know with deisels that is common symptom of a crack in your fuel lines before the injection pump....

but with gasoline injectors i guess it wouldnt matter?

your egr is wired to the ecu?

ahhhhh you need a p13, or block off your egr while using your p28

not all p28's have a egr control right? i know my d16/p28 does NOT have a egr

Sounds like YOU need to take it to a shop, don't risk ******* it up more than you might have already.

Okay if you are using a chipped p28 which doesnt look for the EGR but you still have the EGR connected then the car will die on you all the time. Disconnect the vacumn hose from the EGR and just block off the port on the throttle body that should work for you..
