yes its ntomrla usually you ahve to chop up the bottom sode of the console to get it to fit.

i have an h22 swap but in a 97 dx and everything fits better than stock. i just installed the engine, hooked up the shifter cables, cut hole and ran cables into car, enlarged the original civic shifter hole on the floor a bit, hooked cables to shifter, set shifter in and moved it around a bit each way till i had it exactly where i wanted. then i measured and drilled the four holes, i think i just had to resize two of the original holes and make two new ones. threw shifter consol back over, fit better than stock, lower and closer in to me where i wanted it. its like a short shifter stock, so nice. i dont get the problems, it was all straight forward.

i also have a h22 in an ek hatch.but my center console is bigger than yours.you can get the hasport box that mounts underneath the car,but i cain't justify the price for those babies....i mounted mine on top and i used my stock center console,it covers everything up nice and neat.
