h22 swap. code 24?
I'm helping a buddy of mine that just recieved an already swaped eh2.
Its a 93 cx with a jdm obd1 h22 running the jdm p13 ecu.
It had quite a few codes when I first got it but all of them are fixed now except one.
I'm getting code 24. I have no idea what it is or what is causing it.
Here are the drivability issues:
-Lack of midrange (in comparision to another friends h22 swapped hatch)
-Extremely jumpy part throttle. Either you are on the gas or off, not inbetween
-when sitting at idle, not rolling, and you give it a tiny bit of gas, somewhere around 10% throttle, it jumps up and down about 300rpm rapidly. Extremely rapidly, similar to a fuel cut.
The car pulls decent still but I feel that it has much more in it.
Any ideas?

There is no Code 24 for an obd1 P13, try reading it again, if its again 24 then you could've got a jdm ecu that has Traction control(option in jdm 4th gen ludes)

codes are there all the time.
I think its code 10 and code 14, not code 24
I checked the FITV and IACV, both are good. Checked the wiring up more and its fine, but I need to check about the IACV wiring, maybe something that needed to be done by the previous owner wasn't done.
Edit: just went and looked at the iacv wiring some more. It has a two wire one, with the yellow black wire and the other one is a solid red wire. I can't find anything about the solid red wire online but I'll keep searching. I have a feeling this is the problem
Here is a pic of the ecu. I was wondering, it says AT on it, that doesn't mean its from an auto does it?

lol, well that makes things easier!!
I hate to be the one to break it to ya.. but you have an auto ECU.. it will never feel quite right and you will have idle issues until you have a manual ECU. It's a really good excuse to go with a chipped P28 or P72 though!!

i have never seen idle issues with an auto ecu, usually only a code 19 for the lack of torque converter lockup solenoid.
Code 10 can cause idle issues along with teh 14. code 10 is the IAT and just about every time i have seen a bad IAT there was a weird idle...

I'll tell the owner whats up and see what he wants to do ecu wise. I have a couple ecus I might chip for him.
I figured out what was up with the iat, just a shitty butt connect0r (this car had about 15 on the harness when I got it, whats with people and butt connectors??) anyway I took every one of them off the harness and solder/heatshrink/loomed them all.
I'm still wondering about this IACV though. Most threads I have read when searching suggest that there is a black yellow and a blue yellow.
Well his engine harness has the black yellow, but the other one is solid red. I traced it back pretty far and it seems to be a factory wire, not an addiction.
So what I'm wondering is if its just a weird harness and I need to follow the red all the way back to the ecu. What pin on hte ecu should the red one go to assuming its the same as the blue/yellow?

EDIT: after looking at some wiring diagrams more I have concluded that the RED wire is the EGR wire. So the EGR plug is what is connect to his IACV.
So now my dilemma is to find his IACV plug lol. I'm wondering if the previous owner cut it off or something

sure you can convert it, but I highly doubt that the actual maps are the same..
I dynod my ZC many years ago.. the manual ECU made more peak power and had a better curve. I noticed a huge difference when converting from an auto ecu to a manual... the throttle response was much more snappy and the engine felt more alive.
You cannot expect to have a good running engine with the wrong ecu.

Ok, trying to fix the IACV wiring, I'm having troubles.
Pin A9 is the IACV according to the ECU thread, and it should be black/blue.
"A9-IACV IAC valve Blk/Blu, About 10v KOEO on Warm engine"
well the wire on my A9 is Green white, and it does have 8v with KOEO, so I assumed it must be the right one.
Therefore I ran a wire from it to the IACV. That didn't work at all. Actually by disconnecting the Green/White wire from whatever it was previously running the engine wouldn't even run anymore.
Anybody with H22 experience want to point me in the right direction??

ok I figured it has to be, but how does that explain why it won't run when I connect the iacv to that wire?
When I hook up the iacv to pin A9 the engine will not run.
also randomly the engine is throwing code 13 and code 21 now. It all doesn't make any sense because I didn't change a thing and then those two codes suddenly showed up
