h22 problems, please help
I have a Hasport mount kit, and Driveshaft shop stage 2 axles in a 92 hatch with an H22 engine. The engine runs fine, and the problem lies with the axles. The axles seem to hit the Damper fork. They are right against it while just sitting there. when i drive it (Not that far) you can hear them rubbing. What should i do to correct this. When i had the exhause put on the mechanic noted that I may need to move the engine back an inch or so. I dont see a way to do this besides drilling new holes for the mounts. I suppose that i could have recieved incorrect mounts but i doubt it.

Was your car ever in an accident? This will sound stupid but do you have the damper forks on right? Best bet is to call hasport...

Re: h22 problems, please help (superflea)
I dont believe that it was in an accident. There is only one correct way to put on the damper forks, but just to be sure i double checked with my other civic which is aexactly the same. I just dont get it...

get a picture of what the problem is, because I'm not sure what side of what you said, if it's right or left or both or what.
sounds like driveshaft shop issue, or problem with mounting the engine, or your spring/strut assembly not being installed properly.

Re: h22 problems, please help (poison)
I'll get a pic tomorrow, It's both sides and they seem to be exactly the same. The only drop that it has is from the weight of the engine, which does drop it to some extent. The driveshafts are a lot fatter then say a regular civic axle or for that matter the accord/teg combo that you can use instead. I'll post up the pic tomorrow to see who else can give an opinion. Thanks for the replys so far.

Re: h22 problems, please help (poison)
They are customer made, they do have ones for H22 civics for Hasport and Place racing mounts. They were $500 for the pair. I just thought they would be worth the money so i dont have to replace broken ones. they are guaranteed also. Thanks for the help, i think that if it was a "common" problem someone that had this problem would have spoken up already. I do hope it's something simple though.

Your axles are too fat. What half-shaft are you using. In my set up, I'm using the hasport mounts. accord half-shaft with 90-93 teg axles. (RAXLE.com) . My axle are really close to the forks with this set up..

it's because those gay *** driveshaft shop axles are fat as hell in the middle where they go through the fork. there's nothing wrong with the hasport kit. yeah the axles do angle back a tiny bit more than with an hcp kit but you should still be fine. someone needs to start making billet steel axles or something. (stock or close to stock diameter).

Yeah i was just joking about the forks, are there other Honda Forks that you could possibly use? I checked out Integra ones and they seemed to be the same size. could you possible use Prelude ones?

You'd have to find more info and do research for that though.
Or call driveshaftshop -- if driveshaft shop has axles for h22 civics and beefy as hell, then they should have already heard this issue and I'm sure the supply and demand for wider/stronger forks that clear them will be released

Re: h22 problems, please help (poison)
I have the stage 3 axles from driveshaftshopd and even with my HCP mount kit the axles were hitting the skilling civic damper forks. Easy fix was to use the forks from my 91 Accord and that gave me much more clearance yet was still usable.

Cool I'll see if i cant dig up some accord Forks, was there any problems with them at all, and are they a direct replacement? Also what years does that Gen accord cover so i can call the Junkyard?
Thanks again.

90 to 93 and yes its a better fitment. The only thing is that it may be slightly off of the strut you have because it grabs it like a half an inch lower than the civic one. However once it all tight it doesnt really matter..
