the car in question is an EG with H22/with t2t4 tranny

called gator glen and he said the dss axles are too long.He said they are supposed to be 16 1/4 long.Any other h22 eg guys ever had this problem?

No matter what mount kit you are using axle length is critical on the H22 Civic swaps. Have your friend call DSS and they can help him figure out what length axle he needs for his particular mount kit. If he bought them new from D.S.S. or one of their dealers, D.S.S. should exchange the axles (for free) for the correct length. I am sure those axles were built to work with a specific brand of mounts and your friend has a different brand of mounts with a slightly different engine location.

I completely agree. DSS is great to work with and is most helpful in getting the correct set up to the customer! just may have to pay the shipping cost.
