Default H22 problems.

hey people.....ive recently been having this little prob that i cant quite figure out how to fix, well two problems actually!
ok first off i have a JDM H22A off a 95 accord...it has auto cams so that kinda sucks! its in a 96 civic sedan.

any way now to the problems:

problem no. 1 : every time i hit vtec around 4500 there is a lil bit of bogging down or missing i guess until 5000 rpm n than its ok. so i changed my plug wires..it was ok for a few hours and now its back again. i got a new fuel pump and i have a extra inline one which i can switch on. car was really fast when both of them were on but now when i turn the inline on the missing at 4500 increases. could it be a fueling issue or ignition related??

problem no. 2: ok so everytime i turn on the AC the rpm drops like a bitch and i have to turn that screw on the throttle body open all the way to keep the needle at atleast 800 rpm. sooo whats the deal here??

any help would be apreciated thanks!

Problem #1. Vtec on a jdm h22 should hit at around 5200 if it's a stock p13... Also, what the heck are auto cams? If the engine is hooked up to an automatic tranny or manual one the engine's EXACTLY the same except the engine will have a torque converter instead of a flywheel... the bogging problem could be a couple differnt things.. first of all u getting any cels (check engine lights)? Also, check ur oil make sure it's full and not low...
Problem #2... sounds like ur alternators having a hard time with the heavy load.. Go to autozone or some store and get ur alternator checked out for free.

hmm thanx ill get the altenator checked for sure!

and its a chipped ecu so vtec hits a lil before 5.

and yea i have a manual gearbox but the engine came originally with an auto tranny.

the myth here is that auto H22s cams are a lil bit less aggressive than origianl manual H22s. i could never find out anything about it on the net but we have compared them on the dyno in many cases and there is always a 8-10 whp difference.

oh and btw i just wanted to know what that sensor on the left end of the intake mani is for...the one just opposite the battery!
