Default H22 hybrids, whats your vtec rpm? mines maybe too late!

with my H22, vtec kicks in at 5800 rpm. whenever i'm racing and I shift it comes out of vtec then I have to wait for it to kick in again. would 49-5000rpm be a good point? what does your kick in at?

Set @ 4.9k.

I have tried all up and down the spectrum and that setting comes in smoothest with my setup..

Although 5.1 goes is like a beast out of hell..

Damn, I tuned mine and ended up setting it at 4300. I guess its just the way my car ended up tuning the best. Every set up is different, so don't just lower it and leave your VAFC settings the same.

Spoon P13 setup engages VTEC at 5000 rpms.

Hondata P28 (or the JDMsh!t H22A Race P28 stand alone program) which uses modified Type S maps, engages at 4800.

If you run a B-series Mugen/Skunk2/whatever program that engages VTEC higher, like at 5700 rpms, you really lose a lot of mid-range power from 5000-5500 and it doesn't feel as good to drive below the VTEC x-over as the fuel maps are not setup correctly for the H22.
