I have a 94 H22a in my 97 civic. I'm using tokico shocks with skunk2 coilovers and integra springs for the weight difference....works good. No problems.

That is a very good set up, if you have the cash try some Tien's, otherwise the above staement is good advice!!

teg and civ springs or coilovers are interchangable. tegs have a higher spring rate for the higher weight of the twins vs the sohc of the civ's.
But if you notice with a lot of companies they use the same spring for the 88-00 civ and the 94-01 teg. The better companies have dif rates.

I will also be going H22 and I'm wondering if just the front springs from an Integra need to be used or front and rear? It seems like since the weight is in the front, thats all you might need?

I had that same setup in my old H22 Civic hatchback, and it drove good. But I just drove a customer's 94 Civic hatch w/USDM H22 in it, and he bought the Matrix 24-way adjustable coilover system. At first I figured ok, it would handle alright, but after test driving it for a half hour, playing with the settings and taking corners hard in it, it actually handles just as well as a H22 Civic hatch w/Tien coilovers. Amazingly the suspension was stiff enough and gave enough to where it handled wonderful around some tight corners (this was on the street, not road course). For a product from Matrix, I was actually satisified with the ride performance and how well the car handled with the fronts set at 14 and the rears at 9, and the car was lowered maybe 1.5" and he had a Progress camber kit. And here's the best part... the Matrix coilovers were $500 for the full set. That's almost half the cost of a Tien setup and a lot less than many other full coilover setups. It actually got my in that particular car.

Re: H22 hatch owners! suspension questions (h22 civ)
do spring rates between coil overs and springs differ. or are they pretty much the same? what do you think would be better for a stiffer suspension with H22 in eg hatch? springs or coils?

Re: H22 hatch owners! suspension questions (airteck371)
Heres the current suspension setup in my 93 civic coupe, GC's on stock struts. I have a h22 on the way. I already know I need new struts (plan on KYB AGX). Will this be sufficient? Would I need different springs for my GC's to compensate for the added weight of the h22? GC offers a specific setup for h22's swaped into civics, would it be worth it buying that setup?
I know this sounds noob, just need some opinions.

Re: H22 hatch owners! suspension questions (AudioFuct)
I used to have a 93 Civic EX coupe, with Tokico Blues and Civic GC's, the thing handled just fine.
I now have a 92 VX with all of the EX suspension, (same thing) with the EX front sway bar, etc. I'm assuming it'll handle exactly the same if not better, but Tein RA's and ITR 5 lug is on the way.
We'll have to see with that

GC's w/a 400 lb. spring rate front and rear
KYB AGX front
KYB regulars rear
Sus. tech. rear swaybar and tie bar
ITR strut bar
That's what I'm running right now.

Re: H22 hatch owners! suspension questions (UpstateCivic)
The weight difference is not as bad as people say. I ran stock shocks with APC coilover from an accord for a while without any major problems with handling. But of course it still rode like any car with stock shocks with APC coilovers. Now I am running Tein Type Flex's, S/T sway bars, GSR strut bar, with the JDM ITR lca's. The car handles exceptional and outhandles all my friends with their b-series swaps and so forth. But you don't necessarily have to spend that much to make the car handle good. A simple KYB AGX with ground controls and good sway bars with do awesome as well.

How much are KYB shocks? Where is a good place to buy them? Is there a certain model of them to buy(like blues, yellows lol etc)?
Thanks.
Thanks.
