h22 civic Radiator HELP and ECU problem!!!!
I just got the swap done....everything is mounted nicely, looks clean. I bought a fluidyne radiator (the smaller one) for my 97 Ex. The stock fan wont fit so i bought what i was told would. A FAL fan, only like 1-1/4" thick. I was told this would fit, but it doesnt seem that its going to without either cutting into the motor mount or relocation stuff and possibly cutting into the frame. What can I do. Is there a fan that will work. and how bad is it to drive the car without one temporarily.
Next question. I found out my p13 is bad, it wont throw any codes. there is a p72 available for right now that i can put in. is this ok?
tried searching couldnt find anything
please help

Yes, the FAL fan will fit nicely inside. It will BARELY clear the clutch bleeder valve but it will fit.
As for rolling around with no fan, yes you will be perfectly fine. I've been rolling around with no radiator fan and no heater core for a while with zero cooling issues. Just make sure you don't get cought in heavy traffic, sitting idle and such for a while.
Yes the P72 will work just fine for your set up.

with the fluidine it wont fit and i dont believe that is is a fan that will fit unless u used the hasport mounts...u might wanna try a del sol dual core radiator with fal fan...it worked for my friends h22 del sol even with this setup the fit is mm...the fan is so close its not even funny...it doesnt hit but is almost touching...he has never had a cooling problem also...he runs a stock p28 ecu with a dyno of 166whp and 140wtq...with exhaust and ghetto intake...with aem intake and headers 170whp+ easily and alot more tq...he does low 14's with gay tires and no traction thru 2nd...heres a pic

Re: (eg6turbo)
You have to remember that he is using TOTEM motor mounts. They differ from Hasport and HCP that is why he is having problems with finding a fan that fits. The are a copy off HCP however they are not perfect so certain things are off..

I'm not sure where I saw it, but I swear I saw a push thru type fan that goes on the front of the radiator. I believe C&R has a type for this, but I would give them a call and verify.

On the slim fan I bought I had to flip the blade around for the fan to pull the air through the radiator. If I did not flip the blade it would have pushed it the air, not helping cool the engine at all.

Re: (fastwanabe)
i have a 95 civic coupe with an h22a.
using hasport mounts, del sol dual core radiator, and FAL fan, it would not clear the bleeder.
so what we ended up doing, was reversing the wiring on the fan so it PUSHES air instead of pulling, and mounted it in front of the radiator. it works out fine and we'll soon find out how good it works once i get it running.
