Default H22 in civic

OK so im helping a friend on his H22 civic and he is having an EGR problem the car drives fine for a few minutes but once the CEL comes on (code 12 EGR) the car runs like crap like barely drives. Will the EGR cause that or is there a different problem? and does anybody have the EGR crap that is on the body of the car between the Power steering resovior and the shock towner? It's called the EGR control Soleniod valve and the Constant vacuum control (CVC)

Everybody who does an h22 swap has this problem. Even I do, but I'm to lazy to screw with this problem, my car runs fine even with the cel on, just make sure the vacuum port is blocked and not open.

what ecu are you using? You should just ditch the EGR crap. Get a blockoff plate or something.

Try pulling the vac line off of the egr and plugging it. That might make it run better for now. I'd just get a chipped ECU though and completely eliminate the EGR system.

Holy **** stop.

Your problem can be caused by the EGR. I have seen it before.

You need the EGR control Soleniod valve and the Constant vacuum control (CVC) to have the EGR work properly. The solenoid controls the EGR, the CVC maintains the vacuum.

You can get one from a accord.

Are you kidding me? That is the most useless post with nothing but bullshit. People in that post are so occupied speaking to each other that questions get knocked to other pages and never get answered. It was good a few hundred pages back but now, not so much.
