I just got back from a shop and this is the price they quoted to do my swap. It's a '99 B18C1 (currently in a wrecked GSR) going into an EK. Tell me what you guys think.

Motor swap labor $850
Pull GSR motor $250
Timing belt, H20 pump, misc gaskets, oil, filters, etc. + labor $300
Skunk2 intake mani $300
ACT Xtreme Clutch kit $525
Greddy Exhaust $550
DC Headers 4-1 $320
TOTAL: $3,095

They said no labor charges for installing clutch, exhaust, headers, intake. Seems pretty steep to me and I may opt to not get the headers & clutch kit. Instead I may get coilovers, sways & tie bar. What do you think about these prices and this deal overall.

I don't understand why they would charge YOU to pull a motor from a wreck that is in their junkyard. The motor should be pulled and put on their warehouse shelf anyway....not left sittign in th ejunk heap. As for $850 labor to put it in.....well thats jsut rediculous IMO. I had my last swap professionally done here in PHX, and the labor ran me under 400 bones. The rest of the pricing seems OK, as long as the parts are BRAND NEW AND IN BOX. Seriously man....why are they charging you to pull one of their own motors?

actually its not one of their motors. I bought a wrecked GSR from a friend, so thats why they are charging to pull it. I'm planning on towing the GSR to their shop so they can pull the motor and suspension for me. but yeah $850 is steep, pretty much the only price I'm concerned with. $400 is a sweet deal but I haven't found any shop round here that will do it for less than $700

also those parts are all brand new. I was thinking bout finding used ones but then the shop will just charge me labor. it'll probably work out the same in the end so I might as well just get the new parts.

nope still in there. btw what do u think I can get for a stock 00 DX engine w/ 85k?

Never sold one. Throw it up on ebay. You should get a couple of quotes from other places on your engine swap.
