engine and tranny weights
Alrighty then. I've done some forum searches and some google searches, and can't find solid info.
Basically what I'd really like to see is a table of engine weights for ALL of the following motors with transmissions, or even their weights relative to the D15 (like all you people out there, how much weight did you gain with your swap?):
D15 (all of them)
D16z6
B16a (the ones that bolt into 92+ with the hyrdo trannies)
B18B
B18C1
B18C5 (I'm assuming it'll be almost identical to the C1)
I've seen posts about, for example, the C1 weighing little more than B18B, or the B18B not weighing much more than the B16. But I really want to know how much weight I'd gain going from a D15B7 (93 Civic DX) to any of the above motors.
What I'm most interested in is the weight difference between a D16z6 and a B18B. They cost about the same, but if the D16z6 weighed substantially less (100lbs or more), it would be tempting to do a turbo D16z6 instead of a turbo B18B, since both should be able to reach 200+ whp fairly easily.
