What Motor?
I will be swaping the motor in my eg8 in a couple months but im just not sure which way to take it. I was thinking about a d16z6, then throwing a turbo on it later but im not sure. i do want to go turbo but im not sure if i want the single cam. so i have come to this conclusion, I either want to throw a b16, b18b w/ gsr trans, or a d16z6. i will be driving the car daily and i have plans for a turbo later. I would like to get your opinions on which motor. thanks

Re: What Motor? (confusion)
If you have a few extra bucks, go for the b18b paired with a GSR tranny, you will love me for it later down the road. JK, but that's a better option than a d16z6.. you can get higher HP/TQ #'s and run more boost on it than the d16z6 (all stock internals).
However, if you're broke, get the d16z6 -- easy swap and cheap to replace.

Re: What Motor? (confusion)
If i were you i would go with a b18b with a b16 tranny closer gear ratio. and single cams are horrible with bolt-ons. A b18b with 12psi crapped all down the throat of a stang on spray and that was untuned.

im not sure what turbo yet, i was thinking t3/t4

Re: What Motor? (95teg_ls)
yeah it wines pretty high at 65-70 but i like the gears in it but you could also go with what the guy said in your thread put a ls 5th gear in it and that would solve that problem. but if your lookin for MPG on the freeway i would go GSR trans.
