electric a/c
hey guys
sry if this is in the wrong place..
ive just put a new manifold on my da integra, however i cant keep the a/c so that will be going, after looking around the prius has an electric compressor. im not sure how these work im getting mixed information about it being 240v or 12v with a built in convertor has any one else thought about using these to run a remotely mounted a/c compressor?
after all the trend is tuck everything but why not have some function there to.

Re: electric a/c
It runs off of the HV battery at 201-240 vdc. My dad's airplane has an air conditioning unit that is about 18"X18"X18" with an electric air conditioning pump in it. I'll look and see who builds the compressor tomorrow when I'm at work. Even thought the airplane runs at 24v it might point you in the right direction.
I've looked into this myself for my twin turbo WS.6 so I could use my dry-sump oiling setup and have a little more room for the charge piping. I don't remember all the sites I visited off hand but I did decided that it would be easier to re-locate the belt-driven compressor elsewhere on the engine.
