I have a B16A1 in an EG and everyime I start the car it idles at 3000 rpm, then once it warms up, it goes to about 1000 rpm and bounces from there to 3000 rpm constantly. When I drive it it goes back to normal, but when I come to a rolling stop, the idle stays at 3000 rpm and doesn't drop until I tap the gas, then it falls to 1000 rpm and bounces like it normally does. All I have is an CAI and catback. But these things were on there from the begining and this just now started happening. Help!

Can you tell me what you had to buy (mounts, linkage, axles, tranny conversion, etc) to complete your b16a1 --> EG swap? I am looking into this, and would love to have first hand info from you. Thanks!

If you haven't bought the 1st gen B16A yet, don't. The amount you spend to make it work is not worth it, but here is what you need anyway.

OBD1 DOHC VTEC distributor, OBD 1 fuel injectors, Del Sol VTEC rear engine bracket, Del Sol VTEC thermostat housing and thermostat, Del Sol VTEC throttle cable, Original civic MAP sensor, 90-93 Interga axles(ABS or non-ABS depends on your car), 94-up Integra axles with a 94-up integra intermediate shaft (these axles are stronger), P72 or P28 ecu rechiped, Del Sol VTEC upper and lower radiator hoses, 92-00 Civic speedometer drive unit, LS exhaust manifold(should bolt up to your cat, other wise you will have to go to an exhaust shop to get your exhaust cut and turned to match up). I believe that is it, but I will double check, you can email me if you have more questions.

I have a friend considering this, but he has decided to go ls/vtec with a b18b ... bseries motors bolt right in to EGs with their factory (LS) mounts correct?
