Default ECU switch Question

If i convert my 98 hatch from obd2 to obd1 i will not need a knock sensor correct?? i have a 97 obd2 ecu for my mini me swap but i got 2 thinkin it might be better 2 convert 2 obd1..... any ideas.....(also im lookin for a p28 ecu)

I don't know if you will need a knock sensor, but in the teg forum it says that it will retard your timing (not sure if it applies to Civics)
