yes. actual block/head didn't change from 89-01 that it was made it was all in the electronics, that changed and different plugs.
if the ecu is non-obd 88-91 style, then basically you'll require non-obd electronics.
in particular distributor, injectors, all oter sensor are identical or interchangeable. OBDI or II injectors can also be used but differnet wiring/plugs will be required
