Default ECU question

I have a 99 Civic Lx with a 99-2000 Civic Si wiring harness I just purchased a 92-95 JDM b16a from HMotorsonline.com and was curious if I can use a 94-95 GSR ecu for my car I already have the obdII to OBDI conversion harness. The B16 is going to be used with my GSR transmission..

any help would be great

Carlton

I think that if you used the gsr ecu it would throw a cel because your b16 doesn't have intake butterfly's and I think gsr's have egr valves but i might be wrong about that. anothing thing is make sure your jumper harness is obdIIb to obdI.

You can run it I had to run one before but i throws a cel and it sputters really bad for 4500 to about 6000 rpm.

you can use a P72 ecu on a B16A engine. You will NOT get a check engine light for the IAB's, but the downside is that VTEC will kick on at 4400-4500rpm which is a bit early....hence the boggyness. You could have the P72 reprogrammed with a P30 map though..
